Your AI shouldn’t own your ledger
Chat interfaces are wonderful for questions. They are a poor place to keep the only copy of a household’s budgets, category corrections, and shared decisions.
Common’s bet is simple: keep a calm financial home that you control, then grant assistants time-boxed access to help. When the model changes — or you switch providers — the ledger, plans, and findings remain.
What that implies
- Export and human review stay first-class.
- AI write-backs are structured and attributable.
- Marketing that claims “all your money lives in chat” is a category error.
We are building toward that home. Staging is open for private testing while we finish legal, security, and bank-connection gates.
